STAR WARS: DARTH MAUL – DEATH SENTENCE #4

As more Jedi—Obi-Wan included!—and clone trooper reinforcements arrive to take Savage Opress and the crooked mine owner into custody, Darth Maul convinces the locals that the Jedi are in league with the mine owner who exploited them.

If the Jedi fight the natives, they’ll be killing innocents. If they don’t, they’ll be killed themselves! It’s the perfect distraction for Maul to find and release his brother!

  1. this was alright. pretty good. but not fantastic. i keep up with Star Wars Clone Wars the show, so this fell well short of doing the cartoon any justice. the Maul episodes are truly phenomenal and took an already fantastic show to the next level.
this book had some great moments, however there were a lot of scenes that felt…awkward…and against character type. Darth Maul would have killed the “little Jedi” without a second thought. the reality of him JUST leaving with his brother and prisoner, especially since the kid was talkin’ none-stop mad shit, just doesn’t add up. i don’t feel the author did his homework since he failed to capture the true essence and psychology of the character.
    solid 3 stars.
the series as a whole? 3.4 stars.
it started strong and finished kinda soft.
