  1. I’ve read 1,2, and 3 of the digital versions. I don’t know if they are different from the print version, but they are really really bad. Not just the story, the art is pretty bad. Like 8th grade art class bad. They kind of TRY to make the characters look like the actors and actresses from the show, but then they just end up looking like doofy versions of the real people. But the dialog is really bland and uninspiring.

And I had the bar set LOW for this too.

  2. That sounds so tremendously bad, and from the way the cover looks I can see what you mean! You know what I was so intrested in this just to see what they thought would happen after season #10 ended that I was gonna buy this anyway and my expectations are very low as well however; after your small review here I thank you!! You have saved me $3.99 that I could try on some other well deserving title and probably 15 minutes of my life.

    Thanks @Skoon

  3. This is currently the best Superman book being published by DC.

  4. The negative reviews about this book are very misleading. Fans of the show should definitely check this title out. It’s not God’s gift to Superman fans, but its entertaining and a good continuation of the series.

    • Feel the same way. I am a big fan of the Smallville show and this book does a great job of capturing the feel of the show. I have been very disappointed in the Superman books since the reboot, but i’ll take this book over the other Superman titles any day.

    • Ok, I guess this is one of those you gotta go out and see for your self. I will pick this up to day when I head to the book store and hopefully they will have one left for me.

    • True, this may not be my cup of tea, but someone may enjoy it. It’s much better to leaf through it at the store and decide whether or not to pick it up. It does indeed capture the feel of the show. Unfortunately, it captures the feel of the show at it’s worst rather than best in my opinion.

  5. Ok well I wanna say to @Skoon – I probably should have just listned to you. The characters looked so bad and the story really bored me to falling asleep after like the first four pages. Being a big Smallville fan also; I tried and tried and fought myself the rest of the way to read this issue and there was nothing in this to keep me intrested enough. I say they probably should have used a better artist who can do better character adaptation from TV to comics because these were bad. I would have taken just regular cartoon characters for these characters.

    SORRY SMALLVILLE YOU ARE DROPPED!!

  6. This is a surprisingly fun title, especially at 99 cents per (weekly, digital) issue! I strongly disagree with those above who’ve trashed the writing and art. The writing almost perfectly captures the voice of the series, while upping the ante for its new setting/world. Same goes for the artwork, evoking the familiar faces of the series’ actors but also finding its own, new stride. Plus, for those New 52 readers who miss having Clark and Lois as a couple, this title is for you.
