SCALPED #43

Along the border between Nebraska and the Prairie Rose Indian reservation, Sheriff Wooster Karnow is a bit of a legend; at least according to him. In this stand-alone issue, when a grizzled U.S. Marshal comes to town on the trail of a dangerous fugitive, Karnow will have to prove he’s more than just a lot of talk – or die trying.

  1. This is a new arc, right?

  2. I don’t believe there has been a single issue of this that I have not found to be great. It’s that considernt. @PozrDu this is a standalone issue.

  3. I meant to say consistent. Damn these small letters on my phone!

  4. @TNC: Just as good for me.  I’m in.

  5. @PozrDu: Its not a new arc it says its a stand alone issue.

  6. @CronyC: Indeed.  Stand-alones have been great in the past. Still in.

  7. I keep telling myself I’m gonna read this in trade, but what the hell? I’ll go ahead and pick this issue up for LaTour alone. It will probably be totally worth buying twice.

  8. Raw to the bone, really feel the empty despair of that sheriff, enjoyed the artwork in this as well.

  9. I really like that over the last handful of issues you can really sense the pieces being moved into place to bring everything to the boiling point for the final showdown.

  10. This comic is insanely good, every character is so interesting and Jason Aaron seems to have unlimited stories to tell, I hope it never finishes!

  11. Jason Aaron continues to wow me with each issue that comes out. I do get a little bit scared when i do not see Guera name on the credits, but I guess he doesn’t do the art when they are stand alone issues? They have chosen great artist to step in place and they tend to do similar style, trying not to stray to far from the path. What I am amazed about is how Aaron can tell a story about a character I do not know anything about and by the end  I  feel like I know more about them than their own mother. Can’t wait for the next issue and even though these stand alones are great, I am anticipate getting back to the main story.

  12. I miissed Guerra, but this artist did a good job. I liked this issue, and can’t miss an issue.
