  1. The cover caught my eye, and the Synopse has me interested. As a kid I spent a lot of time in South Central, working the counter of my Uncles Covenience store. Not a fun place. But I’ve never seen it represented in a comic book. So I’ll give it a shot.

  2. I can’t figure this out.  Is this glorifying gang violence or not?

  3. @ultimatehoratio I don’t think it really glorifies the violence all that much. On the other hand it does follow through with the concept of "what if someone of this level of military talent was born into this situation".

Although it’s pretty dang bloody with a high body count and much of the story is told from the gangland perspective, the main character still comes across as a monster. I was also impressed that the cops aren’t the stereotypical corrupt goons that L.A. cops as they’re normally portrayed.

So far this is my favorite of Top Cow’s Pilot Season. It accomplishes everything a first issue should.
