PATHFINDER #3

Valeros and his companions have captured one of the cultists behind the strange magic that grips the goblin tribes of Varisia, but their prisoner may not be as helpless as they seem. Making matters worse, the group must cross through the haunted cemetery known as Pauper’s Grave, luring them into the paralyzing touch of flesh-eating ghouls.

  1. Really liking this comic, excellent writing and art, and it serves as a good replacement for the IDW D&D comic. Hopefully by the time this one is finished (I think it’s only a mini-series?) the IDW comic will be back, but probably not… One of these days I’m also gonna use the Pathfinder stuff in the back of the comics for some one-shots too, but right now Savage Worlds is more entertaining for our actual play podcast.

    • This is my only consolation after the amazing Valen: The Outcast was killed prematurely. It is good, definitely better than the D&D crap that is being put out which is miserable. I just keep hoping Scalera takes over the interiors on this above all else, that would make it 5-star worthy.

    • I also thought the new IDW D&D comic was no good. (assuming that’s what you’re talking about)

    • The current D&D: Forgotten Realms one is abysmally bad. I defy anyone to even know what is depicted or happening in many of the panels. The run before that was just straight D&D by IDW (Rogers and Di Vito) wasn’t terrible but it wasn’t spectacular, the Drizzt mini was pretty bad entirely.

Valen was one of the best fantasy comics of recent memory and it is a tragedy what happened there. Pathfinder is good and helps take the sting of losing that great comic, but it is lacking a bit. Scalera would make a world of difference I believe. I’m definitely supporting it though and buying two copies each month, one to keep and one to dismantle for the game content.
