NOVA #34

A REALM OF KINGS TIE-IN-GUEST-STARRING MR. FANTASTIC AND BLACK BOLT! On a world of dark sorcery, Nova and his surprising allies battle the ancient evil of the Sphinx, but what are they really fighting for? The Human Rocket could rewrite the course of history and save thousands of lives – including the life of his true love. But should he, or is the alternative too terrible to contemplate? Classic foes, great guest-stars and more cosmic thrills await you in the next issue of the series that Aint It Cool News calls “Bar none, one of the consistently best comics Marvel puts out…Those of you who aren’t checking this one out should be ashamed of yourselves.”

  1. Mahmud (Dynamo 5) Asrar is actually the artist on this one, and if his work is up to the standard that it was on last weeks Avengers: Initiative it will be an amazing sight.

  2. Drop this.  It started to become a chore to read.  Its a good book just going to give it a rest for awhile

  3. I feel like I’ve said this on every single cosmic thread since about November, but this is RoK’s last chance

  4. This book is so awesome! Classic but modern at the same time. I don’t know how this ties in Real of Kings but since the story works on it’s own so I can’t complain.

  5. I love me some nova, this has been a great consistent read

  6. @lantern4life: I agree this arc hasn’t been great.

  7. The last issue of this arc was so much fun!  Probably gonna read this first!

  8. Dropped this and GotG.  I like the stories, but the storytelling itself is so dense that it wears my brain out.  All in all they keep averaging out to a mediocre 3/5.

  9. Definitely the worst arc of the series, but still solid. I love the way Asrar draws Darkhawk, hopefully we’ll get a Darkhawk book soon.

  10. I’m puzzled by the negative comments. This arc hasn’t been any worse than prior stories in my mind. It’s still a solid 4/5 for my enjoyment and I’m curious to know what the negative commentors feel is missing now?

  11. I actually didn’t so much care for the art here. Some of it was really good, but some of it made me really not like it so much. I loved the story though. I thought it was crazy fun because it was basically two Time Pharaohs (who are the same person but different in age by 6,000 years) doing battle and using Marvel heroes and villains for Pokemon battles. Loved that. I don’t mind. It’s not the best of this series, but it’s still fun.
