One of the most consistently good books since its beginning. I am liking the slower, less action oriented pace of this arc. Wood needs to write more books!

Great art. Great story, but … I have the same problem with Wood’s dialogue that stops me reading most of his stuff. It’s the swearing. I have zero problem with swearing, I’m not offended by it in the slightest, but the way Wood uses it seems forced. The swearing in his dialogue just comes off really unnaturally in all his work, like it’s written by a dude who never swears in real life, like it’s for shock effect or to make his books appeal to teenage boys.
All his books I’ve read feel this way to me, like he writes the script & then goes back & adds in the swear words. It’s always noticeable & jarring to me, where other writers who will use way more swear words, but I don’t even notice it, because it comes across as a natural way the characters speak.
Sorry, rant over, lol. Great arc, I really like it, apart from this small dialogue issue.
