NEW MUTANTS #29

FEAR ITSELF TIE-IN

The New Mutants fight the scariest beings you never knew existed! The events of Fear Itself aren’t confined to our reality so when strange forces take Hel over from its ruler Hela, it’s up to Dani Moonstar to fulfill her role as Valkyrie and save the day. Her teammates are afraid of what will happen if Dani does this alone, but will they abandon the X-Men as Juggernaut destroys San Francisco?

  1. It seems everytime there is some sort of event. New Mutants always gets sucked into it. Necrosha, Siege, Second Coming, Age of X, and now Fear Itself.  It’s kind of fitting DnA are writing this because those always seemed to happen to Nova.

  2. Ew, someone got Fear Itself in my New Mutants

If this is as good as that random Siege tie-in that was nothing but gorgeous pictures of Norse gods fighting jets, I think I’ll be alright.

  3. Has there been a good Fear Itself tie-in as yet?

  4. @Meanmrmustid  Journey into Mystery is hella good.

  5. @MikeFarley Oh yeah I forgot about that, I’m reading that too.  Its is so good I forgot it was Fear Itself tie in!

  6. I’ve also been enjoying Iron Man and Thunderbolts. And Uncanny might be pretty good.

I’m not as sold on Herc or H4H’s FI tie-ins, but they certainly havem’t been terrible…

  7. YES! I love me some Valkyrie Dani!Makes me want to go read The Asgardian Wars for nostalgia’s sake. Really excited to see LaFuente’s take on the characters. The cover kind of reminds me of the Claremont days of New Mutants where Doug was always in the back. Loved the way D&A used his powers with the grafitti in #26.

  8. did not live up to the cover at all, was really hoping for more asgarian stuff, maybe they will get there eventually, but not this issue.

  9. This issue was excellent. Once again DNA shows how a comic should be written. Now they just have to get better at balancing multiple titles.

  10. I want  David Lafuente to stay on New Mutants.  I love the way that he gave each character a distinctive look, which is hard since they all have the same costume & there are so many blondes.

    Loved this issue.  POTW

  11. Seriously awesome art change, some great spashes by Lafuente, reminded me of his amazing Hellcat run.

  12. Liked the art change, still not sure DnA have a grip on these characters. Still, looking up, but if New Mutants wasn’t one of the first comics I ever bought I would probably have moved on to greener pastures by now.
