  1. Last issue felt like two issues mashed together. 4 issues is just not enough length to establish a world, characters, and pace a story around them. That being said, this has been a really good series. I just hope the conclusion isn’t as rushed as the transition.

    • Same here. I just hope the Cross Gen pick up enough that they can have longer issue run on a story.

I do wonder what will be next for Cross Gen titles. I’m really hoping for Either “The Path” or “Way of the Rat”

    • Its already been announced that the next Crossgen resurrections will be Route 666 and Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang. Neither of which will resemble the original incarnations unfortunately.

Doubly unfortunate for Route 666, since it was probably my favorite single title of the entire Crossgen line. I really don’t see the point of significantly changing Route as striping out all the CGU would be cake (ala Ruse).

    • Ya man route 666 was a great book. unfortunate that there will be a change in story direction?? … hmmm when crossgen went kaput there was a big gaping hole in the quality of the comics i was reading.. and i didnt realize why at first… and then one day i was like… oh man.. thats why comics have sucked a bit for a while… no … crossgen…
I mean way of the rat.. and negation were awesome… even brath was pretty sweet.

    • Negation was the best ‘ensemble’ (I hazard to call it a ‘Team’) title of its period. Blew The Ultimates out of the water (which was new around the same time) that’s for sure. Tony Bedard and Paul Pelletier really pulled out all the stops.

      You know, until it stopped.

    • Ya… i just bought the first 16 issues of Negation as a christmas present for a friend for the inexpensive sum of 20 US dollars with shipping.
Ya your dead on right about it… I was just flipping through the issues and even the artwork is phenomenal. I thought i was mostly the writing of the Crossgen books that stood out.. but its everything thats great.

  2. I had missed the boat on Crossgen when it was around, only because I wasn’t reading comic then. But I wish they would reprint the trades of the older books.

    • I cant stress enough how good crossgen was. Route 666 was like adventure horror and was excellent. Way of the Rat was like adventure/fantasykung fu set in china’s past and was awesome. Negation was like adventure/superpowered character/sci fi.. and was probably the best sci fi comic ive ever read. Im serious about the adventure element in most of these books.. theres a kind of epic quality about them that sets them apart from other comics. Brath and scion were pretty good too.
Try amazon and ebay.. youll find em. Also mycomicshop.com has tons of comics for around a dollar a piece. Dont tell too many people. HA.

  3. Solid ending, but rushed rushed rushed. So much seems to have been left out for its 4 issue restrictions. Giselle being accepted back as an apprentice was just too easy. And it felt like Felice wasn’t given an opportunity to royally f-up Giselle’s big world saving plan in an act of petty jealousy. Oh and Gerard riding to the rescue felt a little depowering to the title character.

Other wise, I do hope we see it again. Was pretty good.
