  1. That is a great cover

  2. Agreed.  "In space no one can hear you scream."

  3. I haven’t been able to see one reason why this isn’t pulled more.  I’m thinking about rereading in time for Wednesday.

  4. @robbydzwonar – I think it may have to do with the decompressed (read: slow) storytelling that Tomasi is using in this opening arc.  I enjoy that approach when used well and have enjoyed it here, but that style isn’t for everyone.  It may also be due to Tomasi not being particularly well known (I believe he was actually an editor until relatively recently [I think his first real quality work was Black Adam: The Dark Ages]).

I am glad to hear you are enjoying it.  I am, too.

  5. All six books so far have been flawless.  I think when this thing blossoms, it’s going to be a book talked about for a long time.

  6. Yeah, they are definitely up to something cool here.  It seems like they are only trying to show us lil by lil, piece by piece though

  7. This an Invincible Iron Man are my favorite on-goings!

  8. I think this trade will be a big seller.  This is ongoing Jumping?  Now that will be interesting to see how far and fresh this can keep.

  9. They really moved quick on the ‘hook’ for this. I’m not for sure how they’ll sustain it but I’m liking the ride so far.

  10. This was possibly the best issue thus far. The tension was thick, I loved it. So glad I didn’t give up on this because Tomasi is doing great here. Huge stack this week for me but right now this is potw after reading cap and batman and robin.

  11. when alpha takes him into space things get reeeeeally tense. Is he gana kill him? Is he going to leave him out there???

  12. @ Aquaman: I couldn’t agree more. You’re sitting there going , oh crap, what’ is going to happen?!

  13. It’s interesting to see the difference between Tomasi’s work on this compared to Green Lantern Corps. One is all crazy cresendo build-up with a ton happening, and the other is a slow-burning fuse filled with vague, ominous tension. And yet, both are equally exciting. And yes, this definately had the best cover of all the stuff I bought this week.
