  1. I thoroughly enjoyed the story (set up the arc and explain the character/world). Was impressed by the art (always heard TopCow was cheesecake central, which this was NOT). But the star of the issue was the coloring. It meshed with the line art both beautifully and unexpectedly, with a palette that was as unusual (the skin tones are strangely pale) as it was gorgeous. The spreads were almost luminous. Of course, the nice ink hold-out of the paper played a significant part in this, but Dave McCaig’s color theory skills stole the show.

Even if you don’t buy the issue (which you probably should), pick up an issue at the LCS and leaf through the pages. You’ll like it. Its’ real purrty.

Christ… this turned into a mini-review. Sorry bout that.
