  1. It breaks my heart to say it, but I’m done with this book. I’m a longtime Legion fan and I always try to support Legion books whenever I can, but this book is horrible.

I get that DC was trying to give new readers a way to connect to Legion characters without dealing with tons of characters in a futuristic setting that’s unfamiliar. However, those are the exact things that I love about the Legion of Super-Heroes!!

Even though this book has some of my all-time favorites (Dawnstar, Wildfire, Gates), I can’t read this crappy story about “The Metamarines” (Whose idea was that?)

Cancel this book, get these characters back into the future and focus on having one strong Legion book.

    • I agree with you – I also love the Legion, but DeFalco took this and put it into the crapper. It’s a dull book with stiff dialogue that doesn’t sound like the Legion characters at all. I was like, who are these people? They don’t talk like that!

And the Metamarines are crap, too. Ughh, so 90s. And not cool 90s, but stiff, wannabe cool Marvel 90s B-lister books. I’m was sad at first this book might get cancelled – but now, like you, I am hoping it does get the axe.

  2. I’m still enjoying this book. And I’m particularly liking Tom Defalco writing it (even if he writes Tellus talking like Yoda. That’s kinda dumb). Its become a really fun, action filled book. And the best part? Defalco is starting to pull in some of the Pathos of the Legion. While I liked how Nicieza handled things for the most part, he largely ignored much of the larger Legion aspects of the cast. Maybe he did that for clarity for new readers, but if you’re writing a Legion book, you should be referenceing these character’s pasts in the future more. Which is what Defalco is doing.
