JUSTICE SOCIETY OF AMERICA #53

The hidden door beneath Monument Point lies open, and the JSA teams up with the Challengers of The Unknown to venture into the city’s depths. Older than the time of the Conquistadores, reaching across time and space – the deeper our heroes go, the more sinister this realm seems, until they stumble upon an ancient evil. Just what was Scythe looking for down here?

  1. This was my #1 pick for series I want to catch the end of.  Particularly because there isn’t a JSA in the new 52, but I’ve always liked most of the JSA characters.  Last issue was good, especially the Mr. Terrific stuff.

  2. Yeah.  I cannot wait to find out how this ends.  At lest they won’t have to find ANOTHER marble table to replace this one with.

  3. The letters carved into the tabletop always trouble me; don’t they make it less useful as a table? Everything would be really wobbly. Drinks would spill.

  4. @ckl  I’m sure they use JSA coasters.  Ma Hunkel seems that she’d have an OCD on that kind of thing.

  5. This cover is a great dovetail to the #1 cover, which featured a similar shot of the table.

I’m sad to see this coming to a close, but if you listened to the Gail Simone part of Word Balloon, she said “I know something you don’t know” when they were discussing the absence of the JSA from the relaunch. I’m trying not to get my hopes up, but it seems like there’s hope.

  6. please JSW come back. One of my favorite books.Issue 1- 22 were classics.
