  1. This book has been awesome so far. (this cover is weak compared to the last two but oh well). I’ve been really into this Sif story so far, and the art is great.

    • I’m new to JIM as well save for a free Marvel app issue of Gillen’s JIM run featuring Loki. So yeah, I know more about Asgard from the Thor movie than anything else and as far as I can tell we know all we need to know to enjoy the story. And enjoying it I am! The dialog is so much fun and the plot just keeps moving with excitement. Its not everyday both of those work in modern comic. Marvel’s publicity has pulled off something amazing pulling me onto this book.

Cheers to Kathryn, Valerio, Jordie, Clayton, and Lauren.

  2. I started reading Journey at the beginning of the Sif story arc. To be honest I am basically totally lost. Any recommendations on comics to read to get up to speed on this series?

    • I started reading in issues at the start of this arc too – I don’t think there is anything in particular to catch up on – other than the face, I guess, that people keep storming and fuckin up Asgard – and Sif is tired of it. So that’s why in the first issue she went and got the berserker magic, or whatever, and now she is hopped on berserker goofballs. And Heimdall sent her somewhere for a time out and to “come down” from the berserker drug – which I imagine is like bath salts for Asgardians.

For real, I never read anything specifically Asgardian before, now I am reading this, Thor: God of Thunder – and I’m going back and picking up the Kid Loki run of JiM in trade.

    • *fact, not face – in that 2nd sentence.

    • The first issue (646) is a bit confusing. It took me two reads plus reading some reviews to figure out what exactly was going on.

  3. What he said and also that Heimdall is Sif’s sister. It’s all pretty self-contained.

  4. The art and colours in this book are so, so gorgeous. That splash page at the beginning was jaw-dropping. And I’m liking the Sif-Heimdall relationship plot.

  5. Wow, this was great. This whole arc is great. The art – between Valerio Schiti and Jordie Bellaire is freaking AWESOME. This is the first book I’ve read of Kathryn Immonen’s also, and this is seriously right up there with the best of the Marvel books I’ve been reading.

  6. If it hadn’t of been for Nowhere Men this would’ve been my pick of the week. One of my favorite Marvel now! books hands down.
