  1. Four issues for $17?  They’re really trying to make up for that dollar issue on this one.

  2. $11.46 on Amazon.

  3. @Conor: is there anyway i could get to amazon through this site?

  4. This ends up costing more per issue, than if you bought the singles … I thought trades were meant to save you cash.

  5. @edward: amazon.com/ifanboy or click the "powered by amazon" thing on the store.

  6. @nathannicdao: ah! thanks man

  7. @WadeWilson: $2.86 per issue is indeed cheaper.

  8. Regardless of discounts, the trade is only a dollar more than the issues.  Whoever said the trade was supposed to save you money? Either way those days are long past.  However, seeing the future,  I’m reconsidering buying the Anchor trade for $9.99 if the second trade is going to be $16.99.

  9. @katang: These days a lot of intorductory trades are $9.99. They do that to get you to try something new. And then if you like it, the following trades are at regular price. BOOM! is doing it. DC’s Vertigo trades are doing that. Image does it. It’s becoming pretty standard.

  10. $17.99 is still a pretty high price point, especially for Volume 2.  Most trades I collect are $12.99 for the first few then settle in around $14.99.  The only $17.99 trades on my shelf I can think of that aren’t stand-alone are the last few volumes of Preacher, and they have 6-10 issues per volume, with only the longer two on lower quality paper.

  11. @conor- I was talking about $16.99 being more expensive for four issues, that were $3.99 each.

  12. @wade

Don’t forget that #5 was actually a dollar

  13. Yeah…All trades are getting more and more expensive though.  I think for 4 issues 12.99 would be a nice price.  14.99 would still be pretty decent.  16.99 seems pretty high.  Yeah Amazon gives a discount, but I doubt a retailer would look at a 16.99 price tag and think that would see alot in their store.

  14. @slockhart- Ah! True! I forgot that. In that case, it’s way more than the price of buying it in single issues lol.

  15. @WadeWilson: Not when you buy online.

  16. @conor:  Yeah, I understand the concept, but the vertigo jump from first trade to second seems a lot less severe than what Boom is doing.  Also, unless Anchor is like the second coming or something, there is no way I will pay $16.99 for the second trade when it comes out.  That price point just doesn’t make any sense to me from a consumer standpoint.  It seems that a trade should be the same price or cheaper than the individual issues since I am committing to buying all of them at once.  Unfortunately, that is slowly changing and it frustrates me.

  17. @conor- I don’t have a credit card, so that rules me out of buying stuff off most websites.

I ended getting this from my LCS for slightly less than the solicited cover price, so it ended up being under $3.99 (US) per issue, so that’s not so bad.

So much talk about the price … lol, I’d comment on the actual comic, but I haven’t read it yet!

  18. @katang: Again, the trades are cheaper.
