  1. Loving THUNDER Agents.  Spencer’s been podcasting it up on this one.  I’ll give him at least one issue to wow me.

  2. Ditto on the T.H.U.N.D.E.R., so I am giving this a shot. Also, DCBS was practically giving this and the next one away. Come issue 3, Nick will have to earn it…. but if it remains $3.99  he will reallllly have to earn it.

  3. Its only this issue that’s $3.99 as it 40 pages, but ongoing its $2.99.

  4. Barry Kitson is making this really hard to pass up…

  5. So fucking great to have Kitson back at Marvel.

  6. How is Nick Spencer’s first Marvel title not a little higher on the pull list here?
A 40 page Nick Spencer debut will earn my $3.99, that’s for sure. I’m also curious to see how he will handle the tone of this book. It will be very interesting to see if Spencer is finally able to make War Machine a worthwhile ongoing–he certainly isn’t the first to try! But he may be the most notable and worthy writer to try to crack that code.
Very excited to get my hands on this issue.

  7. I think after the Don’t Miss with Spencer, the only way I’ll be able to enjoy this is if I listen to “Know Your Enemy” while reading

  8. Interesting enough story, but I’d like to see an all-Kitson issue.

  9. @JDFernandes

Kitson came down with Pneumonia while doing this…. the art for the first arc will continue to have work by Kanu and Di Giandemenico too.

  10. This was pretty good. The art was kind of all over the place which might hurt it as a No. 1 issue but the dialogue was really snappy. I also enjoy War Machine’s war-machine-color-schemed word balloon.

  11. I was pleasantly surprised by this. Great art & story! I came in with low expectations after reading a bad review on CBR. I’m totally on board after reading this issue though!

  12. I liked the twist, but I am not sure I liked the way Nick worked the story around it. Only got a glimpse of the Rhodey character and a lot of people at a table who wouldn’t just shut up and summarize the situation. I got #2 coming, so we’ll see if he can firm things up a bit and provide more surprises and twists. It will have to awesome, because Iron Man, Jr. is not a character that interests me that much.
