INVINCIBLE IRON MAN OMNIBUS HC VOL 01

Iron Man 2.0 is here – and Tony Stark isn’t the one who made him! Ezekiel Stane is on the scene and fixated on avenging the death of his father, Obadiah. Every bit as ruthless and ten times as smart, the younger Stane is all five of Stark’s nightmares rolled into one – and his perversion of Stark’s technology into a weapon capable of slaying hundreds of innocents at a time starts the clock ticking on a chess game Iron Man must win! Then, the manhunt is on! As director of S.H.I.E.L.D., Tony Stark had sole possession of a database that contained the secret identities of every registered hero in the country. But now, S.H.I.E.L.D. is no more. A casualty in the aftermath of the Skrull’s Secret Invasion, the international peacekeeping organization has been replaced by the Dark Reign of Norman Osborn and his newly conceived H.A.M.M.E.R. – a less kind, decidedly less gentle remaking of the legendary security force founded by Nick Fury. With Tony Stark in disgrace and on the run, the orders have come down from the highest level to every mercenary, mobster and Osborn minion: “Bring me the head of Tony Stark!”

  1. I’ve seen this referred to as an Omnibus before; are they steering away from branding it as such?

  2. I believe so. I’m not sure why though, it might as well be with all the issues packed in it. I ordered mine through Amazon, so it won’t arrive until next month. I’m fine with that though, since I have a large enough stack to get through as it is.

  3. I believe it was originally referred to as a HC then Omnibus. This has the old naming. It’s an omnibus, no doubt about it, regardless of name. I’ll get this through InStockTrades, maybe this week.

  4. But is it oversized?

  5. UncleBob: Yes. It is not an Omnibus, just a regular Ovresized Hardcover.

  6. Excited for this, great price for the amount of issues included and omnibus treatment.

  7. I’m about to order one on midtown comics dot com for 28 bucks.  It’s an extra five for shipping it though!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  8. with that price I might have to buy it.

  9. I have noticed a descrepency between a few retailers – amazon matches the listing here in IFanboy but instocktrades shows this volume (not labeled omnibus, but same cover and ISBN#) with only 344 pages (their product description does not list the amount of issues included either).  I’ve contacted instocktrades for clarification.

  10. @rjspring

It’s all the same product. I ordered mine from InStock.

  11. @rjspring:  I believe the original page count was erroneous.  Marvel has corrected it, but it happened after the solicitation already went out.  I’m not sure why Marvel continues to have problems with simple math.  Clearly, if it is 19 issues, it cannot be less than 400 pages.
