  1. Can’t wait!

  2. Hands down my favorite super-hero comic being released! Totally stoked for this issue!

  3. If the “Make Your Pick” button was available now I would hit it because I can’t see this not being my POTW.  Very excited to see how things shake out.

  4. Atom Eve’s totally going have already had a baby by the time Mark get back to earth.
    Mark my words, kids
  5. @edward  very likely.

  6. They should put the baby up for adoption cause they’re only teen agers and can’t possibly raise a child.

  7. They’re at least 20.

  8. Yeah, some serious time has passed since high school. They’re prolly of good drinkin’ age.

This book needs to start being less awesome. All the other books is gonna feel bad.

  9. I think the bigger point is that Eva hasn’t even told him yet, right? So what if she has had it by the time he gets back, but tries to hide it.

Still, it should be interesting to see what happens.

  10. You know how a good comic writer introduces hints to plot developments before they happen?

remember when atom eve was beaten after she fought Conquest and then used her powers to heal herself? There was a funny little one liner about how her boobs had gotten bigger. Now I realise that’s because she was preggers at the time. Hickman is a crazy crazy man

  11. GAAAAAAAAAHHHH and here I was thinking the final line in the previous issue was an indication that this whole “Viltrumite War” thread was something that Mr. Kirkman was going to lay to rest for a few issues/arcs and then pick up later….
I CAN’T WAIT TO READ THIS!!!! XD

    @Malecema: Same here, man! 😀

  12. You think there might be a teensy bit of blood in this issue?

  13. @edward  still too young and too poor to raise a child.

  14. @amircat: what are you talking about? they’re business owners. They were talking about buying a house at one stage. they can afford a kid. that’s how kid’s are raised, parents get their shit together once they have them

  15. @AmirCat  So people in their early 20’s with multiple government contracts are not eligible to raise a child??  You got some seriously high standards for how people (even fictional ones) should live their lives.

  16. @edward  They should have waited before marriage for sex.

  17. @MisterJ  no you should not have a baby until you’re 62 years old and retired. That goes both for men and women.

  18. This seemed to end with more of a whimper than a bang. The plot made sense. I’ve seen it coming since I learned that Mark was essentially a pure Viltrumite, but the execution felt sloppy. Still a 4 star book but not a good ending.

  19. @amircat: We should all wait before marriage for sex

  20. @AmirCat “Too Young” by today’s standards would have been “Too Old” by the standards of just 100 years ago. Let alone early foraging and agricultural societies.

  21. @edward  Yes, sex in marriage is bad.

  22. @PraxJarvin   I like tuna.

  23. This is a strange string of replies . . .

So what do you all think of the new “status quo”?

  24. @Scorpion

It’s kinda the old one isn’t it? Except this one has a lot more plot potential (I’d love it if Kirkman just ignored the Viltrumites for a good few years and really let it build up).

  25. @ScorpionMasada  I gotta give Kirkman credit for doing something that I did not see coming, at least.  But, as said above, it is just the same as the old one.  There are just more ‘latent supes/villains’ running around who are all more powerful than almost everyone on Earth.

  26. This was great, the way this ended left a ton of different story possibilities.  Plus now there’s going to be a latent tension that’s going to be in the background.

  27. Good point. I definitely didn’t see this development happening and also didn’t realize it is basically the same situation as before.

Hopefully this doesn’t fortell some staleness to the book. I ejoyed the issue and dug on the arc quite a bit.

  28. so did she have the baby already? i’m not going into the store this week.

  29. @edward  No idea yet.  Mark and his dad have only spoken to the Viltrumite Emperor on Earth since they returned.

  30. Yea, am curious to see whether Kirkman is planning to develop some of these Viltrumite characters, how they adjust to life on Earth, or will he leave them in the background for some future storyline. Will they be tempted to use their powers at times, will they develop human emotions like Mark’s father did? Like was already mentioned, lots of potential.

  31. @Franktiger. Totally awesome idea, the Viltrumites are the most interesting characters in Invincible. A bit like the Saiyans in DBZ
