INCREDIBLE HULKS #617

From the day the HULK was born in nuclear fire, he’s always insisted he just wants to be left alone. But for the past three years, Bruce Banner has taken the opposite path, forging deep new bonds and building a super-powered family of Incredible Hulks. Now the abiding wisdom or terrible folly of that course of action will be revealed as the Green Goliath leads the Incredible Hulks in the final battle to stop his insane son HIRO-KALA from destroying two planets. 1. Good lord I hope they kill Hiro-Kala or jettison him into deep space to never return. Too many sons. Too many Hulks. The story and art are all right, but I just can’t care about the burned face kid any more. He is played out. For next arc I want to see the Hulks doing something ridiculously non Hulk-like. Like a Bank Heist. Or infiltrating a terrorist cell.

  2. HaHa! i would love to see them infiltrate a terrorist cell! I too am a bit tired of this story.

There are too many Hulks. They need to treat it like a team book, or tighten the focus on to the Hulk. Half the story seems to be watching the other hulks doing random smashing. I think nearly all those characters are complex enough to be allowed more face time, but then it wouldnt be the hulk! Awkward.

  3. A nice wrap to this arc. The art just gets better & better. Pak is on his A-game in this book. Alongside Secret Avengers & Thunderbolts, Incredible Hulks has turned into one of the top 3 team books at Marvel. Stuart Immonen aside. Bendis’ so-called “flagship” Avengers books are asleep at the wheel in comparison.
