  1. Are these typically one shots?  I’m trying to pad my stacks out with some non-superhero stuff.

  2. I’ve just discovered this series this summer by picking up the trades at the library.  Very solid stuff.

@slockhart  It seems to me that there is a story frame that has a continual story, but the stories within that frame are usually complete.  If that makes any sense.

  3. @slockhart: The main story revolves around Fig and company, who run a bar of sorts out of the house. In order to be served, you must tell a story; hence, the "story within a story." I could not praise this book enough. Give it more than one issue just in case, and if you can get your hands on any of the trades (library, whatever) you’ll be hooked. In my opinion, it also boasts the most consistently interesting cover art.

  4. @HailScott much more eloquently put than me.

  5. @slockhart: OK, that was a confusing issue to start. I hope you stick with it for a while!

@zataric: Actually, i just figured if TWO people praised it, maybe he’d be more open to giving it a try!

  6. Yeah… this wasn’t a very good first issue.  About all I was able to follow was the Phil Noto story, which I enjoyed a lot. I’ll probably stick with this for a bit because the Annual sounds really interesting, maybe go back and pick up the first two issues of this arc…

  7. @ slockhart  I jumped to issues with this issue, so I was a little confused too, due to the gap from the last trade i read.  I think I might go back to pick up the first 2 issues of the arc 2.
