HALLOWEEN EVE (ONE SHOT – COVER A)

Eve has an imagination that’s more than active – it can be downright dangerous! Working late at the costume super-store Halloween Land, she gets lost in her own thoughts until something goes bump in the night. The rubber masks and plastic novelties are coming to life, and Eve must face ghosts, goblins, and gorilla suits made real.

High fantasy and heartbreak in an oversized holiday one-shot by BRANDON MONTCLARE (FEAR ITSELF: FEARSOME FOUR) and Eisner Award nominee AMY REEDER (BATWOMAN, MADAME XANADU).

  1. If my Store has a copy i’ll grab it, really dig Reeder’s stuff. Viva Halloween!

  2. This book I have no idea about. It might be good, might be horrible. Who knows? All I know is I was very disappointed with Reeder’s work on Batwoman – she got a lot of hype and it was just kind of a bummer to me. I hope she’s happier now off that book and thus creates some better work.

  3. I really enjoyed Reeder on Madame Xanadu with Wagner and agree that Batwoman was a tough slog (entirely due to the confusing script, no discredit to Reeder at all).

Happily sought this one-shot out on Kickstarter and will be buying it for no other reason than something to store away for a big Wednesday-Hallows-Comic-Eve-Marathon.

  4. Some of the art was really nice, especially when dealing with Eve and her facial expressions, but overall the story was kind of bland and seemed like it could use a bit more thought. I loved Reeder’s design for Eve though especially the cool earrings and her outfit’s color scheme.
