GREEN HORNET YEAR ONE #9

The story continues to trace the formation of the Green Hornet and Kato’s crusade against crime and the arsenal necessary to make that happen. Rusty Schmidt finds himself frustrated in trying to, at Britt’s insistence, devise a non-lethal weapon that can still put the Hornet’s enemies out of commission, an elusive trick to which Kato may hold the solution. Meanwhile, in the “present” day adventure, the Hornet and Kato step up the pressure on mob-boss Skid Caruso’s operations. But, unbeknownst to them, Caruso has called in his own outside muscle-a merciless and sadistic enforcer known only as “The SCOURGE”!

  1. Such a great book. I really feel like this has been overlooked but it’s been awesome

  2. Indeed.  I haven’t even had the time to read an issue since #4 but i’m still all in.  Not wasting my time or money on any of the other ersatz green hornet offshoots.

  3. I couldn’t agree more. Both story and art are fantastic. How do we convince our iFanboy brethren to give this a shot?

  4. @Chaz bribes? Death threats? Black mail?

  5. @mikeandzod21 All of the above.  But, once we get someone to read it, they’ll be hooked.  This issue lived up to expectations.  I love Wagner’s use of Kato.  He’s mysterious and brilliant, not just a cliched “side-kick.”  And, I was left wanting to know more about the villians I hope to see in the next few issues.
