  1. those darn nazis are up to it again!!!

  2. Just gave the HC collection to my dad who is a WWII nut, but most definitely not a comic book reader. We shall see how that goes.

  3. I was actually thinking the same thing for my father for X-Mas.

  4. @JimBilly4: Report back, I’m interested in his reaction.

  5. I’m interested in his reaction aswell.

Battlefields is a must buy and I’m anticipating this will probably be my POTW

  6. yeah, i kind of feel like christmas is a time for family and friends. It’s like you should really make it entirely about yourself and buy comics for people. think about what they are into, not yourself.

but i am interested in hearing about JimBilly4’s dad’s reaction

  7. Very glad we’re getting more Ennis war books.

  8. So what was everyone’s favorite from the first collection?  I’d probably have to go with Dear Billy

  9. Oh dear billy for sure was my favorite.

  10. I believe there is going to be backmatter this time around.

  11. @cutty- Dear Billy for mine too.

It’s cool the main character is an Aussie! Hopefully Ennis doesn’t write him TOO stereo typically …

  12. Trying to cut back on my single issue intake but I don’t think I can trade-wait for this. I’m a sucker for WWII stories and Ennis has been knocking these out of the park. BTW, "Dear Billy" has been my favorite arc thus far, as well. Still need to read "Night Witches."

  13. Dear Billy was one of the best comic stories I’ve ever read. Powerful and heart breaking.

  14. Yep, Dear Billy was awesome.  I really hope we don’t get another arc like "The Tankies" – I really didn’t like that one, way too goofy.  Ennis’ "War Stories" books from Vertigo are great, but "Adventures in the Rifle Brigade" was like "The Tankies" and I couldn’t get into it.

  15. Dear Billy is definitely the best of the series thus far.

As for this, I thought it was great, but didn’t catch me the way the others did. 4/5.

  16. I actually thought ennis captured the voice of an australian very well. we really are as rough as guts and swear every second, fucken, word.
