  1. There have been FOUR previous volumes of Gambit?

  2. That is awesome! And….wait….Bella Donna is not in this issue? I’m there.
Now lets have a new ongoing series for Nightcrawler! He have his own adventures walking around the afterline. You never know!

  3. Want.

The book, I mean. Not, like… not Gambit. Himself.

    … Although…

  4. I just don’t know if I can do this again. The art will have to be pretty good.

    • It’s Clay Mann, the art isn’t going to be pretty good. It’s going to be excellent.

    • I’m more worried about the writing. Asmus needs to be good. I haven’t read anything he has written that I have liked yet. Giving him the 1st issue to get me to come back for more.

  5. morbidly curious…

Not sure if i’ll be able to stand reading that Cajun accent for long, but i will give it a flip through

  6. I hate to say this out loud, but Gambit has always been one of my favorite X-Men. I blame it on being a child of the 90’s.

    • *fist bump*

    • Gambit is one of my favorites as well. Going to be really hard to not pick this up.

    • Same here, man. No shame in that game.

    • I just assumed he was everyone’s favorite. Guess that says more about my circle of friends than anything, I was always the weird Cyclops fan personally.
This and the new Hawkeye, is Marvel NOW starting already?

    • I liked Gambit in the 90s as well. Anybody read the crossover with Ghost Rider featuring the Brood in New Orleans? Wolverine, Gambit, Ghost Rider, The Brood, The Assassins Guild, The Thieves Guild, good times. 😉

    • I always thought Gambit had a sort of stigma, especially on this site. I guess there a lot more Gambit fans here than I originally thought 🙂

    • I used to play Magic and sunk one in a friend’s neck playing around throwing cards like Gambit… I earned the nickname and he’s always had a soft spot in my comic heart ever since. I don’t care what people think/say, the only gripe I have with the character is the Cajun accent/writing. If they’d drop that I’d be 100% down.

  7. I…actually really want this. Gambit’s solo series have always been surprisingly good, especially when John Layman was writing.

On a side note, since the great Clay Mann is drawing, I REALLY HOPE that we get a Casual Wear Magneto cameo somewhere.

  8. Here is a preview…..I didn’t notice the Cajun accent that much.

  9. Buying because Clay Mann is awesome!

  10. If they push the “Marvel’s premiere thief ” angle, this book may have legs.
Think Catwoman for the Marvel Universe (I know, “isn’t that who Black Cat’s supposed to be?”).

  11. buying for the clay mann artwork but of course one of the comic book guys is a dc all the way guy, he gave me a you’re really adding that to your subscription.so what about gambits costume colors it is tame next to mardi gras, new orleans is a fun place to visit and i love cajun food. gambit has been underused in the xmen marvel universe, so glad he’s back with his own title and with a great artist. may have to dig up my wolverine and gambit, gambit and the x-ternals series.

  12. This one didn’t really do it for me. I don’t think it’s good enough to make my pull list.

  13. Still waiting for someone to review this book.

  14. Asmus and Mann won my heart with Gambit #1; the character should have been approached this way a long time ago. It even helped me understand the take on Hawkeye #1… these two titles are really close to be on top of my list.

  15. I… liked it? I think?

This is hard for me, because I have always had a Gambit problem. The fact that I even think I liked it, given what I think of the character, is high praise in its own way.

Gambit seems to know what that whooziwhatsit he stole was. Am I supposed to recognize it?

  16. This was appalling. The writing was sub standard and even Clay Mann’s artwork is nowhere near his usual high standard. Avoid like the plague.
