  1. Really like the last issue, and this one promises to be bitter sweet. Lemire’s last issue, booo, but Frank vs agents of the Rot….bring IT ON!

  2. Picking this up because of the Animal Man connection, also because its a light week for my pulls.

    • I can’t imagine you won’t like it. Aside from Batman, this is my favorite book from the new 52.

    • I hate Lemire, it’s all atmosphere and no story. The couple of times he’s done story, it’s been really lame. Like that Watchmen/Apocalypse Now issue everyone raved about. There’s making a reference and then there’s beating you over the head with a reference. I’m guessing people liked it because it made them feel smart for recognizing the allusions. Seriously, don’t feel too smart for recognizing the straight up theft of 2 of the most famous storylines of the last half century.

I keep reading Animal Man though because I read every single issue of Vol 1, even the post-Morrison stuff.

    • @willupsbrighton, very silly post. Very silly.

  3. I love this book. But no more sweet tooth. No more Frankenstein. What is lemire doing with his time?

    • Writing, writing, writing. He’ll be writing Animal Man and Justice League Dark (Plus, he has the Kid Eternity popping up soon under the name National Comics). Also,he’ll also have some promotion work for his new book The Underwater Welder. Those are just the things that I’m aware of.

As much as I’ll miss Lemire on this title, I’m really looking forward to Kindt’s take on our green monster.

  4. So waiting for this comic.

  5. Decided to stick around for Kindt on this title as well from all the praise ive seen him getting on the websites even though ive never really read his work. Hope it pays off i enjoy these characters

  6. Just thinking if Velcro and Frank meet the Rot will it be able to control them. They are dead aren’t they.

  7. This is the last Lemire issue right?

  8. This is going to be EPIC! 😀

  9. Think this book has been my POTW the last few times it’s out. No. 9 is no different. Pontecelli must have really studied the first 5 issues of Animal Man, it really felt like I was looking at the same Zoo and forrest. Often different artist will draw the same place very differently, not here.

  10. I liked this more than I liked any previous issue of Animal Man Vol 2 or Frankenstein.

Good read I really liked the ending with Frank and Nina

  12. I didn’t realize that this Lemire’s last issue. Bummer. This has been one of the quiet standouts of the New 52. I really loved this issue.
