  1. Cool cover!! Flashpoint is just a fun summer treat!!

    Just sayin…

    K

  2. Didn’t dig the first one, but bought this because i’m a big Animal Man fan. I opened this book up to see Buddy as a prison bitch that gets his nose bit off and curb stomped. Uggghhh. Not digging the psycho Plastic Man either, but then again i’m a Jack Cole purist. Anything less than a fun Plastic Man just isn’t my bag.

  3. I’m starting to enjoy this book but the story seems like it reads too fast, though. Also, the violence is unexpected but a really nice touch. I like how DC is allowing characters to do things that would raise a lot of questions in the “real world.”

  4. I’m really enjoying this book, though it’s probably because I lack a soul.

  5. The violence in this book seems to be drawing the ire of folks over on the DC Comics Message Boards.

I’m okay with it, since I expected it coming into this mini-series, the Fashpoint world is a much darker one than the current DCU, and this is pretty much an “Elseworld” type book.

There IS a lot of violence and gore in this book, but look at where the action takes place.

This is not epic or “must read” in any way.  But it is a pretty solid, gritty comic.  Servicable art and decent writing.

A strange note:  3 characters whose names start with the letter “A” are destrpyed/killed/maimed in this issue.

I wonder if next issue we’ll get up to the “B” characters, or will they skip to “Z”, since it is the end of the series.  🙂

  6. Ugh…this reminded me of Ultimatum.  I don’t know if there’s a worse thing I could say about a book.
