The year is 1934, a time of two-fisted swashbuckling, of fearsome threats and wild adventure—and of ever-growing threats on the horizon.

Three valiant humans — Flash Gordon, Dale Arden and Dr. Hans Zarkov — are plucked from the Earth, traveling to the distant planet Mongo. Their exploits are legendary, battling the machinations and terror schemes of the dreaded emperor Ming, the All-Seeing Ruler of Mongo. But they did not fight alone…

  1. More comics should try the one dollar first issue idea, it works for me!

  2. Another great Francesco Francavilla cover unseen…Life is so unfair 🙁

    Definite buy for a buck!

  3. This was awesome & more towards the cult hit movie from 1980. I tried the one from Ardden but the fact is that they reused art in multiple issues almost a lazy photoshop job so I couldn’t bare it. This seems to be for the Flash Gordon fan of my age who knows nothing of the 1930s Flash. Also this was a dollar so if you can’t swing that you have issues.

  4. This was the surprise of the week for me. I’ll definitely be getting issue #2 to see if it holds up. I confess to being a fan of the 1980 movie, and so far this takes everything good from it and adds some twists. Nice artwork too. 5/5
