  1. Is this the one that was solicited as Fear Itself: Prelude, or something else?

  2. I think so.

  3. Great cover.  Take that Alex Ross!

  4. …Don’t know if want.

  5. I’ve decided to sit this one out.

  6. i’m buying this one shot, the main book and the spider-man tie in and thats it. no extra books, just the ones i mentioned and if it happens to bleed into books i already read, so be it

  7. @RoiVampire: same here.  I’m picking this up just because it’s a light week for me but I don’t plan on buying any tie-ins unless they’re in a title I already read.

  8. @Malecema   the only mini i’m getting is spider-man because, well, it’s spider-man, and from what fraction has said i’m really interested in how fear itself will have an impact on peter

  9. I should be sitting this one out, since the concept seems weak and Fraction’s on my do-not-read list, but I’m new enough that only read one event from each company. That’s not nearly enough to know that I don’t need to buy into the hype.

  10. im going to buy the main event and the titles I already buy. Jeff Parker proved with his Thunderbolts Shadowland tie ins, that a creator CAN pull off a tie in successfully even if the main event turns out to suck. I skipped shadowland but still loved those thunderbolts issues and didnt feel confused at all.
However, I happen to think that a Fraction helmed event sounds awesome, so I’m hoping to enjoy Fear Itself.

  11. @Slockhart: …but it’s a Brubaker not a Fraction issue.

  12. I’m getting this becase its going to be a tie into loads of other mini’s I may want to check out.

  13. I’m not sold on Fear Itself whatsoever, but I… cannot resist Brubaker.

  14. Im out!

  15. @PozrDu

    The entire event, I mean

  16. Fear Itself and Flashpoint are going to be my first two big events. I can’t help myself not to buy into these events and tie-ins. Especially for flashpoint, I should be lucky for this series cause most of the tie-ins are for series I already read except spider-man.

  17. @RoiVampire  et al.  This one shot, and the SpiderMan story, and this lamp, and this paddle game, and thats all I need.  and this chair, this one shot, this SpiderMan story, and this lamp and this paddle game and thats all I need, and this remote controll…

  18. @JackAcid  Haha. If you guys are still doing comments of the week, I want to give an early nom to JackAcid’s one above!

  19. @PraxJarvin  You took the words right out of my mouth.

  20. Looking forward to this, don’t know why peeps seem to be jaded for an ‘event’ series, like they too cool for school or sumthin.  I’m looking for this to blow me away after underwhelming Siege and Chaos War events, and after the debacle that was Shadowland, I wanna see a great event from Marvel already, esp since not sure yet if I’m going to be so into Flashpoint at DC.

  21. @JackAcid  lol, still the best steve martin movie ever “You mean I’m gonna stay this color?!?”

  22. I love Fraction’s Thor, but this event, the 3.99 price, and line expansion forced me to drop it. The collected editions are just a much better value to me. I can’t wait to read this when it does get collected, though.

  23. Did anyone see Joey Q’s variant of the cover? Quite the big tone change from this one

  24. I like to read events in issues because of the giant, issue-wide nature of them. The story will be completely spoiled long before the trade if you go to web sites, read multiple titles, etc. Plus, with the energy generally surrounding them it is fun to ‘all be reading them together’.

  25. I’m gonna wait and see with FI. I’m not burnt out on events, I’m just not sure if this is one that I’m super interested in. That said, I’ll most likely at least buy the main book, if only for the Immomen.

  26. Can you say BLACKEST NIGHT? I am sorry the name alone sounds like a rip off with Marvels twist again…….. Need to get away?
They need an original idea I swear!! I bought this and I will read it tonight when I get home from work so I maybe off base on this one. Thats what I am hoping??!! Now this I am going into with a bad attitude and its another big story from the big two.  Getting boring as hell…..

  27. @Flash923  oh wow, and you hadn’t even read it yet?  I’ll still follow this, but I think you hit it on the head there.

  28. I got this, more cause I’m a big fan of the Invaders and WWII stuff, and for what it is I enjoyed it…but it really just sets up the first of those Hammers we saw all over those preview shots

  29. I still don’t see the Blackest Night comparison, at least from this issue. No where in blackest night do i remember a flashback where an old enemy called down a weapon from the gods and then couldn’t work it so he hid it away only to have his daughter set out on a quest to find it in present day

but maybe thats just me, maybe i missed something

  30. This was good Brubaker.  Sin and Zemo.  Bucky, Namor, and Cap.  Antartica.  Nazi robots.  Very nice art.

Got my moneys work, thank you!!

  31. @Urthona  Exactly, I was a happy reader…great prelude: 4/5 for me.

  32. You guys really liked this? I thought it was oppressively lame.

  33. The issue I liked.

However, I am definitely certain I’ve got no interest in Fear Itself.
