  1. While FF is fun, vibrant and odd I feel this hasn’t really found itself yet. It’s very plain and not very exciting. Really hope it starts to pick up a bit.

    • I agree. The characters are what’s keeping me reading this; I’m sure Fraction has a plan, but this hasn’t been that engaging so far storywise. It seems like he is going for a more done in one approach, with each issue focusing on a new world the family visits. This sounds like a good idea to me, but I guess only time will tell.

    • I have been really loving Fantastic Four so far, I thought issue 04 was exceptional, of Marvel NOW this is probably my third favourite series after uncanny x-men and all new x-men.

    • It is definitely a good book but I need it to be more than good if I’m going to keep buying it in issue.

    • I agree its been taking a bit to find its feet, but I thought #4 was the most enjoyable so far, and a step in the right direction.

  2. By subscription.

Got a feeling I’m only sticking around for the first dozen.

  3. Haven’t been loving and would normally drop it, but the F4 are just my favorite…I never thought I’d get to a point where I would keep buying a book just because of its characters, yet here I am…

  4. I don’t get it, this has been great! I love every moment of this one and FF.

  5. I thought this issue took some steps toward becoming more enojoyable, though Reed has still done next to nothing in regards to finding a cure for what ails him. It bums me out that Franklin and Valeria aren’t really doing much. Valeria is supposed to be smarter than Reed, and so far she’s just on a field trip, hanging out. I don’t know maybe I’m being too pessimistic, but I can’t help it. I haven’t given up on this yet, and I don’t want to, but hopefully Fraction ramps things up soon. Also, are we supposed to know who Cotter is? I don’t, but I’m fairly new to the world of F4 (and Marvel in general), and I don’t remember him.

    • I didn’t know him, but I’ve only been with the F4 steadily since Hickman’s run. I also agree – if I were to make two improvements on this book – it would be a different artist (Bagley’s not bad, but a touch bland for my taste) – and bring back the smart-ass, genius Valeria.

      Overall, though a decent read.

    • Cool, thanks for the reply. I agree with you regarding Bagley, he is very talented, but very generic superhero in his aesthetic. Marvel has done a pretty good job getting artists with differing styles on a lot of their books, so I think there could be a more interesting choice out there.

  6. As I said already, I have been loving this run so far but I didn’t have high hopes for this issue [with them going to Ancient Rome] and it certainly wasn’t as good as issue 04 but it was still decent enough and the ending was cool.

  7. Gonna give it one more issue. Its not a bad comic by any means its just a bit too safe and there is better stuff I could be buying.

Im behind FF all the way though which really stands on its own.

    • That’s cool. I was gonna ask if I would like this if I loved FF, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. Not a huge Bagley fan, sometimes his work is awful. I will be happy to keep FF as the only Marvel book I’m buying.

  8. Cotta? Who is that? This makes two straight issues with a weird time travel twist at the end. I wonder what is going on here. This has been ok, but not enough happening on the “big” side of the plot. For time travel this has been pretty slow. Entertaining, but not a lot to hang your hat on.

  9. This series has been mediocre at best. I’m going to give it another issue then deiced to stay or drop it. Unfortunately this proves my theory that Fraction can not write team books, only solo hero books. His Unc. X-men, The Order, Defenders & FF were not too my liking, but his Iron Man, Iron Fist & Hawkeye are amazing. I love these characters and this is the only run so far since Byrne that I have not found enjoyable so far.
