I would be more excited, but I thought WWH was some of JRJ’s weakest art in the past few years. Also, Loeb has been stinking it up of late. Will this make sense? Will it tie into Alpha (which I more or less liked)? I sense another Hulkk comic that reads like a marketing pitch. Make em all red, that’s what the kids love!
the best Hulk issue I’ve read in years. All kinds of "oh crap!" moments. JRJr’s art was great. I can’t wait for Fall of the Hulks.
The story was easy to follow I suppose, the intential mysterys aside (as intended, I couldn’t tell what exactly was going on with the mystery plot points), but several sequences (like the apprearance of Banner at the very public funeral) just didn’t make any sense to me as an adult reader. Also, the public presence of the Avengers (the good/real ones, not the "Dark" ones) both in DC and later at the funeral didn’t make sense, unless this is post-Seige preview. The logical lapses drew me out of the story several times, which greatly diminished the reading experience. Still, the art was good, and the writing was average overall. 3 out of 5 stars for me.
