DOOM PATROL #11

What kind of people call themselves “The Brotherhood of Evil”? Not this group; not if a certain pan-dimensional business tycoon has anything to say about it. After all, image is everything. But it doesn’t matter how they rebrand themselves – the Doom Patrol has found them, and it’s not going to be pretty.

  1. I keep saying I’m going to drop, but I’m still having fun.  ðŸ™‚

  2. Glad to hear we’ll finally get some more stuff going with the Anti-Doom Patrol. 🙂

  3. I’m just glade this comic is still going. I just fear it will end soon

  4. Giffen says he is good for a year so I am good for a year. This book is as great as DP has ever been IMO.

  5. How similar is this to Morrison’s DP? I’ve never read DP outside of his run, so I don’t know what the "normal" tone of the book is like.

  6. @360logic: It not too over the top in craziness like Morison’s run, Like the idea of 5th Horse Men, Painting that ate France, The whole Pentagon thing, Candel King, a Bike that Make LSD, and such. But what I do like is how Giffen has been bring up some of Morison’s stuff to make it fit back into DCU, (I won’t spoil what he brought back so far)

And Giffen add his own crazy ideas that could end the world, such as a Black Hole with a Mind of it’s own,  Dimensional Constuction/Demolision company, and so on.

     It’s worth picking up.

  7. @JoeCom: Thanks for the description. Sounds pretty fun, I’ll probably try this week’s issue. Didn’t realize this book was inherently interdimensional/idea heavy, I always just thought Morrison went crazy with the characters in his run. Any older DP that you know of that’s worth looking into?

  8. @360logic: Well there is the first Trade that came out of Giffen’s run, if you haven’t picked it up yet.

Other that, I can’t really say. I’ve only read Morrison’s and Giffen’s DP. I’ve hear the DC Showcase: Doom Patrol is worth getting.

But as some guy at my shop have told me, the DP issue between Morrison’s and Giffen’s run (or vol 3 and 4)  are pretty bad, made during the time when comic where trying to be edgy and cool with teens.

  9. Actully, maybe staring at this issue might not be a hot idea. I think you should go back and pick up 8-10 if you can.
