This and JLD are just great books! A little more suspense and story would be great, but the characters are great fun.
Yeah, when people bash the New 52, I think of those two books and Animal Man as books that weren’t around pre-52 that I have enjoyed immensely.
Agreed, I really wish people would give DC more credit for this title — it’s one of my favorite on the shelves right now . . .
I think one of the things that really helps this title stand out is the lack of crossovers/tie-ins. The setting makes it pretty inconvenient to attempt things like that, so it’s left to just tell a good story on its own.
I liked Cornell’s run for the most part, and I’m still liking the new stuff. Even though it’s a new writer and set 30 years later, it still feels like a consistent book.
