I really enjoy Kev Walker’s art and the quirky cast in this book, but my hatred for Marvel has grown so strong I may have to pass on this. We’ll see – game time decision.
I love Walker’s art but greatly dislike Shalvey’s art, so this issue may put me through some emotional turmoil…
I’ve read a lot of people praising Shalvey’s art – I think it’s okay but much prefer Kev Walker’s work.
I think both are equally good in their own styles!
gotta be the most underappreciated Marvel book, I wonder if the title change helped the sales
OK, several things.
1) Parker is killing it. A solid title, over the long haul.
2) Walker’s art is more my style, but Shalvey’s art is a good alternative. They’ve established a nice rhythm, and I think Parker writes to their personal strengths, when he can.
3) No matter how I feel about Marvel on any given day, I’m buying a hundred issues of this title. It’s been great since #100. I’m here until at least issue #200.
4) Quietly, secretly, silently excellent. About villains. Really fun. One, please.
Yes, this book is a secret treasure, hopefully it will not get “Marvel NOW”ed anytime soon. The fact that they only just recently changed the book’s title gives me hope that they plan to keep it, at least for a while.
Yeah, Uncanny X-Men, Fantastic Four, Hulk, FF, etc. were all around for so long before they got editorially screwed…

The issue was a good read, I like the switching back and forth between past and present, can’t wait for the next one in 2 weeks!
I gave it a try when it switched to Dark Avengers cuz i am a sucka for a good jumping on point,well I wouldn’t qualify that as a good example of ‘jumping on point’ but it intrigued me enough to give it a couple issues. I don’t completely know what’s going on yet, but I do know this book is pretty awesome.
Loved it. Only Avengers book I’ve stuck with. The Avengers story is fun, but for me its all about the time traveling T’bolts. Great stuff.
This issue made me want to know more about the Dark Avengers, and I can’t wait to see what will next time in the future! Ah, actually, I liked the parts with the thunderbolts better than the Dark Avengers, but that’s because their story’s barely picking up.
