  1. What happens after the three stand alone issues? Is it done? How does this book sell? Is there a correlation between iFanboy pulls and real sales? How much wood…?

  2. here’s a good article on Criminal.  Its a bit dated but it addresses the new format and then some:

  3. I think it is selling enough to continue for now without the creators losing their shirts, but obviously not well-enough that they didn’t think it was a good idea to give it a new #1. Nowhere near Powers or KickAss numbers.

  4. I’m excited for this issue.  I have em’ all and love em’ all.  Like, Scalped, I hope this book goes on forever.

  5. Wait … what? Stand-alone? I didn’t know this. At the back of the book in issue one is says the issue was "the first of a triptyck of short stories, which are linked by the robbery that takes place off panel in this issue."

    Can’t wait to see Teeg!

  6. This book does what a lot of others would benefit from doing, I think. Namely, the exclusive monthly content that does not appear in the trades. Simply put, if you want to boost pamphlet sales, you’ve got to incentivise them in some way, and this sort of extra feature is a great way to do that.

  7. I think it’s part of the tryptych (such a cool word that I don’t think I can spell), but they’re presenting it as three stand alones that all have to do with the robbery that we heard about in the first one, and they all sort of come together in places near the end. ‘Least, that’s what I heard they were doing

  8. one of the bets books on the market.  I cannot recommend this enough, and I’m not a fan of the crime genre either.

  9. The issue was great, of course, and I especially loved Jason Aaron’s essay about his favorites.  Frank Pembleton is a longtime obsession of mine, and I didn’t think anybody else remembered ‘State of Grace.’

I’m going to have to start reading ‘Scalped,’ aren’t I?

  10. @ohcaroline~  You aren’t reading it now?!?  For shame!  And I read your "The Order."

    I just feel so…so used! 🙂

I kid, I kid!  Seriously, buy "Scalped."  Tomorrow.

  11. @ohcaroline – Yes! Read Scalped! You won’t regret it.

  12. I went and ordered ‘Scalped’ from InStockTrades a few days ago — I don’t know how long they usually take to ship, but hopefully will have it soon.
