  1. Thank god this arc is FINALLY over. Least favorite arc of the series so far hands down. I really hope we get back to the swashbuckling adventure that made this series so enjoyable early on before we go crashing into the inevitable dark conclusion.

    • Yeah I agree, this arc seemed to drag on even though it was only 3 issues. Is the end of Wood’s run supposed to be around issue 25? I thought I had read that.

  2. Man, I ended up really liking this arc. I’d put it maybe 3rd in the series for me (after the first two arcs). I didn’t care much for #16, but #17 had a really cool plot device going for it, then I didn’t really dig the first half of this issue, until Wood came back around & gave the arc a really great ending. This arc ended up feeling the most… literary?… of the series.

I can absolutely see how others might feel polarly opposed to this. But I give it a 5/5 (though some of the artwork felt a bit off – in tone, not anatomy or composition).

    • I totally agree. I made it pretty clear I greatly disliked this arc but this single issue was one of the best of the entire series. It really felt like the calm before the storm that will be the rest of this series. Amazing payoff for not only the first two issues of the arc but really for the entirety of the series before it. This kind of issue makes me wish Wood was writing this book for 50 issues and we could see Wood take Conan to his final days.

  3. I agree the first two of the arc weren’t the best issues but I liked them okay. However, this issue — both art and story — was one of my favorites of the series.
