CONAN THE BARBARIAN #17

While recovering from their most traumatic personal challenge to date, Conan and Bêlit seek respite in a mystical journey of the mind. Instead, they uncover the dark truths that they’ve hidden from themselves and each other.

* Epic story arc from Northanders team Wood & Gianfelice!

“This is about as good as it gets as far as visceral action meeting cerebral emotion.”

––Comic Book Resources

“It’s a moving and sad tale, filled with passion and love and violence. The interior artwork is outstanding but the cover shines. It’s gripping and beautiful.” ––Technorati

  1. Crap. More dream sequence.

    • That was my same thought when this week rolled around — but after reading it… this issue really, really delivered for me. It may be my favorite since the first two arcs. (And I wasn’t digging last issue too much.)

    • Agreed with jasonhart. Didn’t care for last issue much, but the story device and the art really clicked this time.

    • Storywise this issue was better than last week but I really really disliked the art. It just feels like this has all been done before so many times. The “look what your life could have been” sequence. It just feels old.

  2. Yea, I only got this to keep my series complete. But definitely my least favorite arc.

Still Brian Wood has really brought Conan to life, this series has me excited about Conan that I haven’t felt since Busiek/Nord’s masterpieces.
