Brian Wood introduces Conan to a kind of fear he’s never experienced, in part two of “The Death”!

  1. Brian Wood + Declan Shalvey + Dave Stewart = Quality

  2. Good read every month. It’ll be a shame when Wood’s time on this book is over.

  3. Last month was a pretty big let down. Weakest issue by far, hopefully this one gets the series back on track.

    • I didn’t think it was that bad. I look at it as setting up the next book, building to something. Mystery & Intrigue. Now if we suddenly get 3 issues in a row of the same non-action, then we have a problem.

    • It wasn’t even the non-action that bugged me, it was the TERRIBLE and completely unbelievable behavior of the characters. The soothsayer spends I believe it was three full hours saying “death is coming” or something like that and then then the next morning a mysterious ship shows up on the horizon and Conan, Belit’s lover, king, and most trusted companion and advisor tells her not to let the person in the boat on board but despite ALL this she decides, fuck it, let ’em on the ship. It was idiotic. No exaggeration I almost dropped the series after last issue. The only thing that stopped me is how much I like Wood as a writer. I thought last issue was awful and that Belit acted not only irrationally but completely out of character. I’d have given it 0 stars if I could.

  4. Has a trade come out yet? I’ve been following this since the beginning but I definitely want to pick this up in trades as well, fantastic series.
