Captured! On his way to deliver stolen state secrets, Conan is abducted by the King of Nemedia and asked to turn over the name of the accomplice who sent him on this errand. Conan’s loyalty is strong, but will it be strong enough to overcome the Nemedian inquisitor who will stop at nothing to force Conan to reveal all he knows?     I read recently that Iron Maidens were never actually used as torture/murder devices. That most were pieced together from multiple artifacts to make more terrifying museum pieces. I can’t decide if that makes me sad at history being distorted or happy that there is one less notch on the belt of human cruelty.

    This has really been a great adventure series so far, I hope this creative team continues to do another arc after this one.

    The art style makes me think of a Saturday morning Disney cartoon. There’s a touch of humor of the silly variety that I dislike strongly in a Conan story. Still, I enjoyed the story and there’s plenty of brutal swordplay. I humbly request less emphasis on primary colors in the art and light humor in the writing.

    I still don’t think Hawthorne is a good match for Conan, but it has grown on me and I thoroughly enjoyed this issue, even if the Inquisitor’s assistant got so confusingly lost in the shuffle. I think there was a misplaced word balloon that did not help at all.

    Hawthorne really put in work on this issue. I haven’t read a lot of Conan but I like this style. A little goofy but I always viewed Conan as goofy after Arnold.
