  1. I read recently that Iron Maidens were never actually used as torture/murder devices. That most were pieced together from multiple artifacts to make more terrifying museum pieces. I can’t decide if that makes me sad at history being distorted or happy that there is one less notch on the belt of human cruelty.

  2. This has really been a great adventure series so far, I hope this creative team continues to do another arc after this one.

  3. The art style makes me think of a Saturday morning Disney cartoon. There’s a touch of humor of the silly variety that I dislike strongly in a Conan story. Still, I enjoyed the story and there’s plenty of brutal swordplay. I humbly request less emphasis on primary colors in the art and light humor in the writing.

  4. Hawthorne’s art is one of the highlights for me, I love it.

  5. I still don’t think Hawthorne is a good match for Conan, but it has grown on me and I thoroughly enjoyed this issue, even if the Inquisitor’s assistant got so confusingly lost in the shuffle. I think there was a misplaced word balloon that did not help at all.

  6. Hawthorne really put in work on this issue. I haven’t read a lot of Conan but I like this style. A little goofy but I always viewed Conan as goofy after Arnold.
