  1. Nice cover. Hopefully the end will deliver.

  2. @Zeppo  Not holding my breath for that….

  3. I almost wish I hadn’t bought the first 39 issues, but then I know the curiousity would have been worse than the disappointment.

  4. That cover pretty much sums up how i feel about this book now

  5. If this cover was her rocking out holding that swax like a guitar it would be a guaranteed buy  for me.

  6. I still haven’t bought issue 39. Don’t think I’m likely to either.

  7. So my main question is… where was this quality 18 issues ago? A great cap to the series, but it all seems moot in terms of the overall quality of the series. Though the premise for Season 9 set up here might not be so bad. I may have to check out the first trade. 4/5 (Slightly generous)

  8. This issue + Whedon’s letter at the end made everything else worthwhile. I went from hating these last couple of arcs to being SO excited for season 9 just like that.

  9. This was really clunky. This whole arc has been actually.

  10. I’m sure I’ll be back for Season 9, but this will go down as the low point of the series, along with its hokey season one and sad season 6 (which I actually enjoyed).

  11. Done, this was ok but i still don’t know why exactly buffy broke the seed or why angel broke giles neck or what happened to angel or why spike is in a spaceship with giant bugs and worst of all, this issue didn’t make me want the answers. it provided a stopping point and the realisation that all i really need is seasons 1-7 on DVD

  12. I really enjoyed this issue, and after I put it down I thought ok I’m on board for season 9 if Whedon can deliver this every issue. This felt like issue one, all the gang were there (mostly) as I like them. I’ve now decided if I can reread season 8, and overall feel happy with it I’ll get season nine, because only this and a handful of issues since the half way point were any good. Maybe instead every time an issue comes out I’ll just watch a DVD instead.

  13. I’ve missed the last arc or so of this. . .any idea what Willow was referring to when she said she broke up with Kennedy because she loved somebody else?

  14. Is there any idea how many issues season 9 will be? 40 issues is just too many and we ended up with thin plots stretched out over the course of the story. I don’t think it should be longer than 25 issues. It forces a quicker pace and for the story to be told with no deviation.

  15. @ohcaroline  She was referring to the mystical-magicy-blue-snakey-witch-thing who has been seen in the Willow one-shot and a couple other times throughout season 8. Willow is bummed cause she’ll never be able to see blue-snakey-witch again cause buffy got rid of all the magic in the world. http://i392.photobucket.com/albums/pp7/vickvega1/BuffySeason8WillowAlt.jpg
