  1. Not a regular buffy reader or even a Buffy fan but I picked up last issue and really dug it so I’m with it either til the end of the story of the series. Haven’t decided yet

  2. If this issue is half as good as the last issue, it will still be a winner.

  3. @MikeandZod2 You should get into Buffy. It’s crazy good.

  4. The last issue was fantastic, I’m excited for the series again.

  5. @gungadin I’m not really a huge whedon file. I tried watching a little bit on hulu and I don’t know if it was watching it on the computer but I just lost interest real quick. As far as the comics I’ve read the Vaughn arc and the loeb issue and this arc.

  6. Last issue gave me hope this series could end with a bang rather then a whimper. Hopefully the last year will be as good as the first!

  7. @mikeandzod21-Season 1 of the series really isn’t very good.  BUT every subsequent season that I have watched (up to season 5 now) is really, really good.

  8. That last issue was great and hopefully the rest of this arc will be as good.

  9. BOOM!

damn i did not see that coming

  10. Why the hell did they spoil this a few months ago. I went to cbr and the main headline basically said Angel was Twilight. Since then I’ve been hoping I read it wrong and hoping it was a curveball… but alas… what could have been an amazing reveal was ruined by Dark Horse months in advance.

  11. I managed to avoid spoilers, and was completely surprised.  I didn’t even think it was possible for him to be in this comic.  That said, I was a little confused by this, but i’m ready to see where it goes.  Oh, and if we can have Angel in this book, bring on Spike!

  12.  @MisterJ: I have really like the show, but I think the older I get and the more times I watch it, I love Buffy Season One. There is just so much stuff there that is reshaping the myth from the ashes of the crummy movie. The must is pretty awesome as well. It was about as dark as the show ever got, the vampires where seen as much scarier monsters, and so much of the show’s strength wasn’t based on plot but on character interaction. I love Buffy Season one. I love pretty much all Buffy (expect for the movie).

  13. @skeets: Oh, it was big controversy, with Bill Willingham, current Angel writer, giving a very strong worded response to all this.

Liked the issue, but I hate the "Character talks cryptically to maintain ‘mystery’" trope. I see it weekly on Lost goddammit, why are you throwing it in Buffy.

    "I think they’re f@#$ing"

  14. @mitchster-Hey, to each their own.  I just like how the dialog and interactions and jokes flow in the later seasons more.

  15. With Buffy I think the first season is AMAZING, then each season got even better and peaked at 3.  Then they start tumble steadily downwards after that with Season 7 being a HUGE dip below any of the previous seasons.  That season is a real slog.   Although if Season 8 were an actual season it would rank lower than 7 despite a few bright spots.

  16. IMO 6 > 3 > 2 > 5 > 7 > 1 > 4

But that being said, I love each season

  17. Finally read this, and it’s my late POTW.  This was exactly what the book needed.

  18. So glad this wasn’t spoiled for me.  I started to think it could be him but figured it wasn’t legally possible so dismissed it.  Great issue.  Just wish we would have been able to see this play out on the show.
