  1. Didn’t Bendis do a story in this too?

  2. That cover is gorgeous, even though Spidey’s mask is incorrectly drawn.

  3. This’ll probably be worthwhile for Cebulski’s advice alone.

  4. hmm… ?

  5. So, am I correct in assuming that by purchasing this book, I now am guaranteed a job at marvel comics?

  6. Just like if you buy How to Draw The Marvel Way you are guaranteed to draw just like John Buscema.

  7. @Gabe: yes, that is true. the House of Ideas doesn’t pay much but you get all the farts you can smell

  8. in fact, you have to pay two installments of 3.99 for said job

  9. Hmmm, my feeling on this are mixed.

CB’s advice, especially on Twitter, is very valuable and he seems genuinely interested in finding and promoting new talent.

But on the other hand, Marvel know that a very large proportion of comic readers want to write comics themselves, and so there is a chance something like this could be an exploitative cash-in.

We’ll just have to see. I have no doubt that anyone involved creatively will have had the best of intentions, so hopefully it will be useful…

  10. This has a Kathryn Immomen Runaways story. SOLD

Plus from the preview a cool looking Spider-man story. I’m gonna check this out.

  11. WOW this was good.  Christian Mauck w/ Bendis knocked it out of the park!!!

Damion Hendricks w/ Guggenheim was fantastic!! This guy needs to be on Amazing Spider-Man now.

    Great Bullseye comic as well.

  12. Average rating 5!

  13. I loved the Spider-man artist, and the New Avengers artist, they are definatly good finds. The rest were all decent, but I don’t think I’d be over joyed if they took over my favouite books.

If the Runaways team here came back for a 4th series, I would probably pick it up. The art was ok.

I wasn’t a fan of the Ironman art, it felt flat, and Tony looked wrong

  14. @Zeppo-Tony’s big head was disturbing.

Like you, I enjoyed the Spider-Man, Bullseye and New Avengers stories. The rest had big problems with the artwork that made it rough on my eyes. They knew how to tell a story, just had anatomy/shading/etc. issues that brought down the quality.

  15. @drake – I couldn’t put my finger on it. Now you’ve said it, he does look like a bobblehead.

  16. This really wasn’t what I was expecting.
