  1. I liked the last issue … kind of got me hooked.

  2. same.

  3. I’d never read this title before although i’ve been into Hell Boy for the past coupla years.  I’d been intrigued for a while so I bought the “Plague of Frogs” hardcover anthology and now I’m hooked.
I like Guy Davis’s artwork.  Simple and detailed.

  4. Man I am 22 issues behind in this series and can’t catch up until June.  Downer.

  5. At first I didnt like Guy Davis. I now dont like myself for that.

  6. @kmob181  But imagine how much fun you’re going to have in June.

  7. @kmob181  I don’t think this issue is related to any other.  I don’t read BPRD and enjoyed the first issue.

  8. There’s some story elements that I really don’t like in Mignola’s work – some ancient civ with all knowledge… bah! – but I’m always taken in by the art and the way in which the story is told. Congrats BPRD team, awesome comic craft again!

  9. I have all the issues.  The problem is they’re roughly 7,000 miles away.  I’ve also been reading since Arcudi came on so I really don’t want to skip anything.  But Amircat is right – each new arc is pretty accessible.

  10. Fantastic.

  11. I think some of you are touching upon my question already, but being familiar with Hellboy and BPRD, how accessible is this arc?  I flipped through the first issue and it seems that Hell has opened up in Texas?  Do I need to know why, did I miss that?  I’m looking to jumping in BPRD full-time and I keep meaning to pick up the new hardcover volume.

  12. I meant to say I’m only just familiar, I don’t have much of a history with Mignolaverse.

  13. @TexasZombie99  – Gods is the second series in the new master-arc “Hell on Earth.”  The first mini in this arc was New World.  It might not be a bad idea to start there if you want a little more depth.  All the minis before that which Arcudi wrote were part of the War on Frogs master arc – the first one being Plague of Frogs.  Alternately you can read BPRD 1946 and BPRD 1947 which are sequential but self-contained stories.  Hope that helps!

  14. Thanks! I’ll see if I can find the “New World” mini at my shop.
