BOYS HIGHLAND LADDIE #1 (OF 6)

Everyone’s favorite pint-sized Scotsman gets his own origin story, with art by Herogasm artist John McCrea. Mind reeling from recent events in The Boys, Wee Hughie heads home to Auchterladle, the semi-idyllic Scottish seaside town where he grew up. All Hughie wants is some time to himself, to return to the bosom of family and friends, to get his head together after two years of unimaginable, unremitting, and egregious chaos. But our hero’s luck has always been more cloud than silver lining, and the familiar surroundings he craves are not all they might be. You can go home again — but with old pals warped beyond recognition and strangers in town up to no good, whether or not you should is another matter entirely…

  1. Damn, I would like to read this, but that artist from Herogasm is absolutely terrible.

  2. @Ramulux: John McCrea? He’s great.

  3. How are you going to insult John McCrea? Guys fantastic!

I’m excited for this as The Boys has really been really good since that G-Men arc.

  4. Google "Oor Wullie" to get the cover reference

  5. Im glad were getting this story but did we really need it as a mini? I guess maybe because I read Preacher in trades i don’t get how these fit into the rest of the story in issues.

  6. @mike B-c they’re referenced in the regular stories.

  7. Ha! Oor Willie cover!

  8. I agree that the first 1 or 2 issues of Herogasm wasn’t really McCrea at his best. Maybe he was a little rusty. But as the series went on, he got back to form, which is pretty great.

  9. The whole damn thing was written in Scottish!!!

  10. I had a hard time understanding some of this but it was great fun. Classic Ennis.
