BOYS #44
Part one of the four-part Believe: as the greatest religious festival on the superhero calendar gets under way in New York, the Homelander finds himself front and centre, very much against his will. But so does Annie, whose heightened public profile leads her to get something terrible off her chest. Meanwhile, Butcher ponders what to do about “the Hughie situation”, and MM makes his own feelings known… just when everything was going so well…

For my 4 bucks, i better start seing some shocking stuff like how when i first picked up the book. This book hasn’t had any shockers for me since Herogasm. If Ennis wants to "Out Preacher" Preacher with The Boys, then he better bust out the cattle prod cuz right now the only shock i’m getting is how Static this book has become!
Fair point
Well. The thing we have waited forever has FINALLY happened. High hopes for this story arc.
My store got shorted on this. Dammit!
Got it, haven’t read it, but it seems that the only line Ennis hasn’t crossed with this title is blasphemy. He did plenty of that in Preacher, though. I’m not a fan of blasphemy and don’t find it funny, so I’m concerned about where this may be going. Sort of like once Obama was elected, NO/FX and a lot of bands that beat up on the Republican/Conservative side ran out of stuff to complain about and started in on religion. I guess that’s your prerogative as an artist, to attack things you don’t agree with, but I don’t have to read it.
I read it and was OK with how he handled it for the most part. I have no problem with him pointing out hypocrisy and fakes. Not sure where this will wind up though.
