  1. Still no interest in this book!  We’ve had Superman, this issue and last had Talia al Ghul, and it continues to be well-crafted, emotional story.  Come on, people, buy this!

  2. Enjoying this series. If a little confused as to who is supposed to be narrating this issue. I thought at first it was Ras, but I guess not.

Though I’m not like the heavy prominence of Superman in this story. In a year one, I would like to just see the character themself without interacting with others. And as far as I remember, Black Lightning’s Origin was Supes-Free when it was told in the 70s.

  3. Well, he IS operating in Metropolis.  And it’s not like Superman has been overshadowing him at all.  He came to size him up and approved.  Plus, this series has shown why you need Black Lightning in a town that has Superman already.  He fills a need in an area that Superman can’t reach.

  4. No, it’s not an issue of overshadowing. I think where I’m getting annoyed at Superman/Clark’s presence is that, in a sense, I feel like it’s saying Black Lightning needs to have his existence validated by Superman. It’s a little offensive really, the black superhero needing to prove his worth to the "Perfect White Male." But alas, it is a good series nonetheless.

I encourage everyone to pick this up. Or pick up the trade in a few months.
