  1. Very excited for this. BW has been a big hit for me. I like the 70s feel to the villains. Bermejo draws great cars too.

  2. This was interesting, but it fell a little flat for me.
This series has showcased Rorschach’s ability to take a beating. He basically got his ass handed to him the whole time.
The villains weren’t that interesting and Rawhead was given too much face time AND ***********SPOILER****************
We don’t even get the satisfaction of Rorschach killing him. Felt anticlimactic.
The art is amazing and felt like it captured the time period. The last page was nice, but we’ve been thinking about the serial killer for all 4 issues and I was looking for more of a payoff with his demise as well.

    • I did like all these big broad shouldered 70s tough guys, and I liked Rawhide getting his Saturday Night Fever on, but I agree that I found his actions once he left the building and the city’s reaction anti-climatic and, well, if there was any symbology or deeper meaning there I didn’t get it.

But I kinda liked that Rorschach wasn’t Wolverine, that all it took was one skilled fighter – or in an earlier issue a handful of thugs, to beat his ass. In this issue he’s just plain lucky.

Of all the Watchmen characters, Rorschach is the one I wish could escape the Watchmen universe and join the DCU. I know fanboys would scream, but I wish that in the final issue of Watchmen, when Dr. Manhatten fries him, we could learn that he is instead sent to the DCU.
