  1. After the last issue, I’m not sure where Cooke is going to go. It’s been one emotional gut-punch after another.

This is another of the Before Watchmen series that really stands up to the hope and the hype.

  2. So bittersweet, I’m very excited to read this finale, but also bummed that it’s ending. Darwyn Cooke managed to do what some thought impossible, and craft a completely fantastic story that adds to the existing mythology of the Minutemen. I’ve loved every issue of this series and eagerly await what I’m sure will be a killer ending.

    • I’ve loved most every Before Watchmen issue. I’m really glad DC did these – they have totally been crafted with love for the original series.

I know some people are all in a tizzy about this but they are missing out on some great stuff. Except the back-ups – but then again, I hated the pirate story in the original.

  3. Wow, blown away. Darwyn Cooke is truly a master of his craft. Obviously Alan Moore is credited with their creation but Cooke has really brought the Minutemen to life with this series and made them his own. It’s astounding the grasp he has on these characters.

While I ultimately consider the Before Watchmen concept a failure, all those sub par comics were all merited just for the release of this series.

  4. Wow. That was an amazing last issue.

  5. The payoff here was epic. I’m speechless. I really am. Cooke gave me such a shock with this one. He really did have a story to tell here in this universe and when you think about it, it makes perfect sense. When is the HC coming out? I need to throw more money at this. Thank you Darwyn. This story made the whole damn thing worth it.

  6. Holy crap. Worth it. Every issue was stronger then the last. That page of Dr. Manhattan splitting the gun that was divided into nine panels was my favorite page……I’d kill to have that as a poster.
