  1. Nothing makes me drool more than a stunning J.H. Williams cover. Just another perfectly executed cover.

  2. Dropping after this issue. After the first arc this series has been a bit of a mess. Sadface.

  3. Beautifully executed art. One of the messiest stories I’ve ever encountered. Dropping after this.

  4. Too many interruptions ruined the story flow. There was the poorly placed 0 issues (thanks for nothing DiDio and editorial), and the boring story about Kate’s GF. I’m not ready to call it a day, but everyone needs to get there ducks in a row. Also, not crazy about the new design for Flamebird. I guess the old one was a bit garish, but something about it just worked well with the Batwoman outfit.

  5. I have loved this story. I’m also a huge fan of this character and her world. Hate that people having been having as much fun, but this has been great to me!

  6. While this story has been far from perfect – the second arc “To Drown the World” was a mess – I’ve really been enjoying the Batwoman-Wonder Woman team-up so I’ll be sticking with it for a while longer at least. I’m looking forward to Batwoman going up against something other than Medusa! 🙂

  7. That cover is breathtaking.
If DC had ruined it with a stupid banner I would have been pissed!

  8. Every single layout, panel and corner of this comic was absolutely stunning. J.H.3 is truly on another level in terms of comic art.

    • Also huuuuuuuuge props has to be given to the colourist, Dave Stewart because he’s just as responsible for the identity of this series.

    • Agreed. One of the obvious pulls to this comic. I thought a lot of the loose ends tied up nicely as well…. I’ll be sticking with this. I haven’t sat down to reread the series thus far, but I’m betting it will seem a lot more cohesive when viewed as a whole.

    • Agree about Stewart — his coloring has been amazing . . .

  9. Beautiful

  10. I buy this comic for the art. This story arc has been a bit messy but I do enjoy the character of Batwoman. Hopefully the next story is a bit more down to earth.

  11. Batwoman #17 is the best issue ever! “World’s Finest” comes to its @$$ kicking conclusion. From Batwoman herself, to Wonder Woman, to Bette, to the jaw dropping last page, this issue is gold!

  12. The last two pages were amazingly beautiful. It’s too bad that a lot of you didn’t like the story. This issue seemed to wrap up a story that really began in issue 1 – but it didn’t *feel* as long as it was. Rotworld dragged and got uninteresting – this book keeps me interested every issue.

  13. As everyone has said the art was unbelievably good. Bette’s new codename doesn’t really roll of the tongue but its no worse than Flamebird. There was one death that I actually was happy about since I didn’t care much for the character.

I’ve been considering dropping this now that this arc is finally complete, but I think I may give the it a whole re-read and make my decision then.

  14. I really enjoyed this issue. I agree with the complaints about the second arc (never could follow everything that was happening), but I struck around for the character and her world. I’m glad that I did, as this last arc with Wonder Woman has been very good. From the first splash page to the last panel, Williams was at the top of his game. The “Marry Me Mags” page floored me though in terms of both story and art. I’ve really enjoyed their relationship and am keeping my fingers crossed that it doesn’t get derailed . . .

At the moment, it’s my pick of the week, but I still have Mind MGMT to read . . .

  15. I failed this book in reading – I completely missed the importance of the line that Bones utters at the end of the book. Holy crap WHAT?

  16. Thank god this story arc is over. I lost interest in the outcome about 6 issues ago.

  17. Wow, what an awesome issue. And that huge cliffhanger at the end. But Hawkfire or whatever she calls herself now seems like comedy relief to me.
