  1. Hurwitz is an excellent writer. I highly recommend the Penguin: Pain and Prejudice miniseries!

  2. this is dangerous territory, I always liked the idea of the Wayne’s being killed by random violence as opposed to a conspiracy

  3. Art was off-kilter in some places (action scenes) but a good read. It doesn’t change the accepted origin, just how Wayne deals with it.

  4. I really liked the way they handled Chill here, not an Owl, not a mob man… just a criminal who needed money. This allows the focus of Batman to remain broad as opposed to one crime family or The Court. That being said I want Hurwitz back on Moon Knight.

  5. I’ve always preferred the version of the Waynes’ death where their murder was random, instead of revenge or part of some larger conspiracy. The handling of Joe Chill was great — again it’s more powerful that he was simply a desperate figure looking for a quick score. I also liked how the focus was on Bruce and how he broods over the “mystery” clinging to the hope that there is an easy “answer”, a solution in the chaos, only to be confronted with how wrong he was . . .

  6. Yawn. Well that was a whole lot of nothing.
