Yeah! This is more like it! After a so-so first issue, this issue rocked my socks off. The art is off the planet, it’s so cool to see Kelly Jones on Batman again, and the story is getting really good now too.

Anyone who jumped off after the average first issue, check this one out, it’s a massive leap forward in quality & highly recommended to all Batman fans.

Gotta love Kelly Jones, seriously! I’m very surprised to see that Conor isn’t picking this up, maybe he doesn’t like the crazy Jones art? Great book.

New to Batman, so picked this up after reading Year One tpb.

I dig the art, sorta.  But wtf is up with the super long ears on his cowl?

@thebouv – That’s how Kelley Jones rolls. It’s an exaggerated horror type style. It’s not meant to be realistic looking … look at his cape! When he first worked on Batman years ago, at first I hated his art, I was like a lot of people "Why the fuck does he have long horns??" lol, but I grew to love his art style. From hate to love? Kinda like a cheesy romantic comedy?

I LOVE the colouring in this book too. To me, colourists are like umpires in sports — if they do a good job you shouldn’t notice them. But the colours in this book are so striking, they jump right off the page and do a flying side-kick into your eye balls.

I just read a ton of Batman this weekend.  Trying to get into DC and find Superman/Wonder Woman totally lame.

I was about to give up all together, but after reading Dark Knight Returns, Batman Year One, Arkham Asylum trades and the two issues of Gotham After Midnite I’m going to get my hands on some more.  I’ll at least finish Gotham After Midnite, and see what else I can jump on Batman related.

Nice weekend of reading thebouv!!! Those are some of the best comics ever, not just Batman comics. Maybe I’m biased because Bats is my all favourite character in anything though … it’s good to see you didn’t give up on DC! =D

Keep reading Batman! Did you check out RIP yet?
